THE CHALLENGE
The Danish Health Authority wanted to develop a digital learning programme about LGBT+ issues in elderly care, aimed at employees working in the sector. The goal was not only to provide knowledge about LGBT+ topics, but to make that knowledge practical and applicable in interactions with older citizens.
A key challenge was the broad target audience and the need to communicate complex and sensitive topics in a simple, accessible and practice-oriented way. At the same time, the programme needed to avoid becoming moralising and instead focus on what employees can concretely do to create a sense of safety, dignity and space for each individual.

THE SOLUTION
We developed a course series consisting of four digital learning modules, combining videos featuring real people, actor-based case studies, animation, historical storytelling, reflection questions and interactive exercises.
A key approach throughout the programme was to take familiar situations from employees’ everyday work as a starting point. Through case studies and dialogue, participants were given the opportunity to reflect on their own assumptions, communication and different ways of interacting with older LGBT+ citizens.
Historical stories were also used to connect past legislation, discrimination and social norms with the experiences of LGBT+ older adults today.
THE RESULT
A digital learning programme that makes LGBT+ inclusion relevant to employees in elderly care through concrete situations and practical, real-world examples.

- Case studies based on familiar everyday situations
- A combination of video, animation, storytelling and interactive exercises
- Focus on practical communication techniques and open-ended questions
