Who is the course targeted at?
The course ensures proper GDPR training for your employees. The course is aimed at anyone who works with personal data. The course requires no special prerequisites.
After completing the GDPR awareness course, employees know the most important GDPR rules and when to pay extra attention in their daily work.
What is GDPR?
GDPR is a contraction of “General Data Protection Regulation” and is typically referred to as the General Data Protection Regulation. It is an EU law and therefore applies to all countries in the EU.
The purpose of the legislation is to ensure everyone’s privacy. The legislation describes what information is considered personal data that requires consent before processing.
When does GDPR apply?
We all have a right to privacy and protection of our personal data – and the GDPR rules will help us ensure that.
The rules are necessary because we live in a digitalized world where we are constantly:
- Passing on information about ourselves to others – for them to look after
- Receiving information about others – who we need to look out for
Personal data is increasingly being used in various socially beneficial contexts.
For example, when doctors write in and read our medical records, when the government collects taxes, when companies invoice customers, or when a workplace receives job applications.
Who does GDPR apply to?
In short, GDPR legislation applies to everyone; companies, associations, individuals. In addition, the legislation also applies outside the EU if it concerns an EU citizen. So even if a US company has your data, your personal data is still protected under GDPR.
