Lær for Livet has mentors all over Denmark. They want to ensure a uniform introduction across the country, and want the information to be digital. As the mentors have to work with vulnerable children and young people, it is important that they are always well prepared for the role.
Lær for Livet is a long-term learning program that aims to strengthen the learning and life skills of children in care and at risk. Lær for Livet aims to help children and young people in care and vulnerable children and young people strengthen their professional and personal skills, increase their desire to learn and achieve better well-being.

PART OF THE ONBOARDING
We have created an e-learning program, which is part of the onboarding as a mentor in Lær for Livet. The program goes through all the information that the mentors previously had to read in an empathetic and active way. The program uses animations to explain the difficult topics and gives the mentors dilemma exercises that they have to think about.
WHEN LIFE HURTS
We were focused on making sure the e-learning program embraced some difficult topics in the best way possible. So the mentors were well equipped to meet the vulnerable children and young people.
Children with the closed mindset see challenges as something to be avoided. When faced with challenges, they feel incompetent and less worthy.
Children with the closed mindset give up when they encounter an obstacle because they are sure that if they can’t do it right away, then they will never be able to.
Children with a closed mindset do not think it makes sense to make an effort. If they have talent, they do not have to make an effort, and if they do not have talent, then it is a waste of time to make an effort to get it. It is never going to happen.
Children with a closed mindset receive criticism as something negative that sets them back and makes them sad. In defense, they ignore the criticism.
Children with the closed mindset feel threatened by the success of others, while children with the open mindset let themselves be inspired.
