THE CHALLENGE
VELUX wanted to develop videos that could help managers understand how to conduct effective development conversations and provide feedback to their employees in practice. They already had guides and tools in place, but found that managers and employees could sometimes be unsure how to apply the frameworks in real-life conversations. There was therefore a need for a more practical and engaging way to demonstrate best practices, focusing on concrete situations rather than theory and tools alone.

THE SOLUTION
We developed three short videos featuring actors who demonstrate dialogues between managers and employees in specific conversation scenarios. Throughout the videos, small animated characters appear to highlight key points and illustrate different ways of approaching the conversations.
Grape was responsible for script development, planning, storyboarding, animation, editing and project management as producer. The combination of real people and animation gave the videos a creative style with both charm and humour.
THE RESULT
- A creative learning format
- Combining animation with real people
- Focused on practical conversations, feedback and development discussions
- Short videos that demonstrate situations and best practices in a simple and engaging way
- A format that shows how short videos can be used when a longer learning journey is not necessary
