This means that both Nordic companies and global players selling to EU citizens must be able to explain why they collect data, how they protect it and how long they store it. Privacy texts are understandable and in the language the recipients actually read. Data is minimized at collection and stored only as long as the purpose requires. Security matches the risk to data subjects \u2013 from access control and logging to encryption and incident response. A strong data processing agreement makes the difference: which sub-processors are used, what security requirements apply, how does deletion occur upon termination, and can you monitor? If data is moved outside the EEA, the transfer must have a valid basis (e.g. standard contractual clauses) and a concrete assessment of the conditions in the receiving country.
