Who is the course targeted at?

The course ensures that employees in the financial services industry, including bank employees, insurance advisors and investment company employees, have the necessary skills to comply with AML & CFT legislation. It also targets compliance and risk management specialists who work to ensure their organization’s processes are compliant with anti-money laundering and terrorist financing regulations. Finally, the course is relevant for managers and decision makers who are responsible for implementing effective AML & CFT strategies in their organization.

What is AML & CFT?

AML (Anti-Money Laundering) is about preventing and detecting money laundering, where criminals attempt to hide illegal funds by making them appear legitimate.

CFT (Countering Financing of Terrorism) focuses on preventing the financing of terrorist activities by identifying and disrupting cash flows that may support terrorist organizations.

When is it important to be aware of AML & CFT?

  • When entering into all new business relationships, especially with customers from high-risk countries or politically exposed persons (PEPs).
  • When unusual transaction patterns occur with existing customers that may indicate money laundering or terrorist financing, such as large cash deposits or international transfers without a clear business explanation.

Who is AML & CFT important for?

Banks, insurance companies and other financial players must ensure they follow AML & CFT legislation to avoid penalties and protect their reputation. Everyone working with customers and financial transactions has a responsibility to identify suspicious activities and ensure compliance.
